About wine:
Merlot reserva is still perfectly clean and attractive ruby red coloured wine of medium intensity, merely shy, brown coloured edge shows its age. Calm, but variegated aroma of ripe, jam berries, dried roses and ivy is accompanied with the trace of pepper of an excellent ageing wood process, in which peppermint and basil are indicated. It is warm and rich in mouth, with still nervous acidity and with its maturity it is delusively sweet and soft. The structure of tannins is still firm and it fits well with the mature, concentrated flavour, which with the spicy note nicely preponderates into an elegant and harmonic after-taste.
Recommended:
with grilled meat (beef, pork, lamb), beef steak with Mediterranean herbs (thyme, rosemary, savory, oregano), steak in wine sauce, venison (especially equidae as Roe deer, red deer, mouflon), blood sausage, braised bovine tail, goulash with bread dumplings, grilled ceps, mature hard cheese, chocolate cake. Serve at 16°C.
